Phantom Dust Xbox One FreiaMicrosoft’s E3 Press Conference revealed what we hoped the signs were pointing to, a new Phantom Dust game for the Xbox One. The developer has yet to be announced. The teaser features Freia, sporting a Psycho Blade inspired skill, and an unknown man. The music, Chopin’s Nocturne Op.9 No.1, was instantly recognizable to fans as one of many classical tracks found in the original Phantom Dust.

Notable tweets post-reveal:

  • Earnest Yuen, Executive Producer at Microsoft, “Phantom Dust fans who missed the news: Yes, of course Yukio Futatsugi-san is involved in the project!”
  • Avi Ben-Menahem, Executive Producer at Microsoft, “yes, you should expect a lot of new stuff, it is a total remake…”
  • Adam Isgreen, Creative Director at Microsoft, “more info about it soon. For now, I’ll just say that its amazing core combat will return, intact.”
  • Ken Lobb, Creative Director at Microsoft Studios, “we want the original fans to be VERY happy, please trust us. We love the original, and will treat it with the respect it earned”
